About the instructor

Bob Dealey has over thirty years experience in engineering, design, building, troubleshooting, consulting and productionizing of sophisticated high cavitation runnerless injection molds. A graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, he held engineering and management positions prior to forming and operating his own plastics consulting firm. He is internationally recognized as an author, presenter and for his extensive experience and expertise in injection molding, mold design and building, and troubleshooting.

A SPE member since 1971, a Past President and Director of the Mold Making and Mold Design Division and the I.T. Quanstrom Foundation, he was awarded Honored Service Member status in 1994. He authored the chapter on Mold Making and Materials for the SPI Handbook, the chapters on Mold Design and Mold Maintenance for SPE’s Plastics Technician Tool Box, was a contributing editor to Modern Mold and Tooling and Modern Plastics magazines and writes the Ask the Expert for the Injection Molding Division Newsletter. Bob is a frequent speaker at conferences and presented numerous ANTEC, RETEC, Top Con and Technical Conference papers throughout North America and Europe. In 1994, the Mold Making and Mold Design Division of SPE named Bob “Mold Designer of the Year”.

His project work on state of the art injection molding concepts and mold design with some of the worlds leading companies insures that current technology is presented in the seminars. A Power Point presentation with colorful illustrations is used to convey the mold concepts to the participant. He operates Dealey’s Mold Engineering, a Plastics Management, Marketing and Technical Consulting firm in Williams Bay, WI.
