About the seminar:
Fuel cell technologies are moving out of the research lab and are rapidly becoming economically competitive solutions in niche market applications such as lift trucks, backup power, and combined heat and power. As fuel cell technologies are adopted on a wider basis, engineers will need to understand their value proposition and operating principles. Principles and Applications of Fuel Cell Technologies is a two-day seminar designed to give engineers and technicians a fundamental understanding of fuel cell system operation and provide examples of real world applications. This course focuses on applications where fuel cell technologies are being adopted as economically competitive solutions to batteries and diesel generators.

About the instructor:

Dr. Scott Greenway, the President of Greenway Energy LLC, is an active speaker, educator, and researcher working on hydrogen energy technologies. After working with fuel cell companies in the USC Center for Fuel Cells and earning his PhD at the University of South Carolina in 2007, Dr. Greenway and several colleagues started a fuel cell consulting and engineering business. He works with the Department of Energy on projects to develop an international hydrogen fuel quality standard and educate state and local government officials about hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. He also serves as the subject matter expert on hydrogen energy technologies for technician training program at Aiken Technical College. Greenway Energy is a member of the South Carolina Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Alliance and works closely with economic development organizations such as the Center for Hydrogen research to transform fuel cell markets through technology deployments and public education.
